Frequently asked questions

Straight answers before a site inspection.

Concise guidance on preparation, products, timing, occupied homes and the information needed for a considered quote.

01What affects the cost of painting a home?+

Cost is shaped by surface condition, preparation, access, height, detail, occupied-home staging, coating selection and project scale. A detailed quote should explain these factors as inclusions, exclusions and assumptions rather than presenting a vague room rate.

02Can we live in the home while it is painted?+

Often, yes. Work can be sequenced by room or zone, with daily access, ventilation and cleaning planned around the household. Larger repairs, spraying or specialist finishes may require a different arrangement, which should be discussed before work starts.

03How long does interior painting take?+

Timing depends on room count, condition, ceiling height, detailing, drying time and whether the property is occupied. A site inspection allows the work sequence and practical duration to be documented more accurately.

04What preparation is included?+

Preparation is tailored to the substrate and condition. It may include cleaning, filling, repairs, sanding, sound-edge preparation, gap treatment and suitable primers. The written quote should state exactly what is included and where repair boundaries sit.

05Which paints and finishes do you use?+

Product selection is based on surface, appearance, exposure, maintenance and household needs. The proposed brand, system, colour and sheen are documented in the written quote; no manufacturer affiliation is claimed.

06Can I receive a quote from photographs?+

Photos help with initial review and clarification, but a final written quote may require a site inspection—particularly for premium, heritage, exterior or repair-intensive projects where condition and access materially affect the scope.
